To be clear, the small beach is at the end of a direct concreted path from the resort that will eventually go past a champagne bar and a play park. Search for Praia do Evaristo. 5-10 mins walk. The beach is pebbly and the water is rocky, not really great for swimming.

the resort shuttle operates to (I think) Praia do Castelo. A much bigger beach that was better for swimming. Shuttle takes 5 mins max and goes every 30 mins.

both beaches are concessioned, have restaurants and lifeguards. There was lots of sunbed availability.

I wasn’t wowed by the Pine cliffs and struggled to see how it was a luxury collection hotel, however it does have a much better beach and has better views. Altogether, I think the W hits the mark better for everything else. A few minor service bugs to iron out, and they are onto a winner.
