interesting to see and read how the hotel is moving through the pandemic adaptations

prepandemic the lounge was a must,
nothing wrong with the staff and service
f&b equal to an Asian lounge
after the evening hot nibbles tweak it lost a bit of shine but the generous bubbly pour made up for it

i find it a solid hotel but the major niggle are the renovations - get on with it!-
everytime a sheik parks his harem there, they take so much room inventory that the renovations are delayed again
or the sheik drops enough bag of coin that the hotel gets lazy in the haste to speed up the renovations

with their new scrooge approach:
bet the hotel is going to view the lounge now more as a cost centre then as a profit centre
aka diamond+40N influx vs RA + guest paying club supplement

IC Parklane and IC PLG were the only 2 hotels in the far past,
were club lounge was always an extra add on in price for rooms/suites
untill in the nearer past when they specificly allowed booking a club (room/suite) combo rate

*just my 2 cents
On the money assessment as always Hades.

And indeed was the case last time there. A very senior member of the Qatari family was there. I forget the name but the owner of one of the Lebanese restaurants in Shepherds Market also said he had them in. They were absolutely fine but it is the case .... hotel stops and moves around them, not the rest of us ...... at 8k a night for the Elisabeth and another 6-10 premium suites, I guess that's an understandable law of economics.

Scrooge is the right word. I see them building on covid opportunities. Again understandable in a sense but the cost saving definitely focused on arguably the wrong arears.

The renovations do feel slow. Have to confess I thought they were finished until last stop.

If I were an RA trying to get every dime and value aspect out of a hotel (and I should say I've done over 22 years doing just that) then I'd be disappointed at ICPL just now. Moving to that position in life were I'm starting worry a little less (a little, only a little ) about the value and goodies included.

It almost warrants a thread in it's own right to get data on what IC's have reduced or maintained their offering post covid.
