My first Tru stay last night in Columbia, SC.

Check in was fine. I was given a bag with 2 waters and cheese popcorn and thanked for being a Diamond. The lobby was clean and bright.

The room is spartan. Bare floor, bare walls, minimal furniture. The desk is rickety. Tiny fridge. Previous occupant left cold cuts. No microwave.

I was hoping these places competed with Indigo. More like Microtel.

Bed and pillows were comfortable. HVAC was effective but made an odd whiny sound.

Breakfast was weak. Scrambled eggs and room temperature sausage. Watery coffee. A toaster that took 10 minutes and made little difference to a bagel. No peanut butter. Yogurt. Apples and oranges.

Worth $109? I suppose so. I would return with slightly lower expectations.
