I've just booked something later this month using Avios. Worked fine except the usual BA PNR that is useless for seat selection etc. No idea where I'm sitting unless I contact them for their PNR.
I had the BAEC agent provide the AS PNR after I had to call to book in the instance above.
I've also been able to obtain it previously through the chat functionality on AS website.
