Have flown in throne seats many times. These days on award tickets you'll have to snap one at check-in as the loophole has been closed.

OP, is this a 132k miles vs.. 146k saver award r/t? LX TATL should cost 73k vs. UA at 66k w/ an EU connection. I'd look at the total package, miles paid, connecting airports (ORD is not a good connection to LX; ZRH is great), irop options (ZRH much better than GVA), shower availability (ZRH wins), seat (depends on who you ask) & service/food (LX wins)
