OP - do you have star alliance gold status? If you do the I would choose the LX flights -- ZRH is WAY nicer than GVA (I'm not a fan of GVA airport) - and I also much prefer a longer red-eye (ORD-ZRH vs IAD-GVA) and 5 hours in IAD -- even at the PL -- is a LONG time to sit... Technically you will have access to the PL in ORD -- but you will be departing from a different terminal in ORD -- and you will have to go through security again -- so you won't have much time to enjoy it.... As porciuscato pointed out UA uses the 767 on these routes which is one of the tighter Polaris seats -- but still good...
