It depends: do you prefer good service (Swiss), or a good seat (United)?

I just flew ORD<->ZRH last week. They fly 767s on this route, which I think have the worst Polaris seats in the fleet. So that diminishes United's seat advantage a little.

I was just in the ZRH Senator lounge (which you get into with any Star Alliance Gold membership) and it was absolutely gorgeous, with good food and nice runway views.

IMO, Polaris lounges are greatly over-rated. They serve crappy wine and the buffet food (particularly in ORD) is garbage. The restaurants typically have waiting lists these days, and the food is meh.
