This type of benefit is not a gift, it's an inducement to get us to try their service. We tried it during the lockdown phase of the pandemic. While the physical grocery delivery was reliable and quick, their customer service was unresponsive, they repeatedly tinkered with their software, and the supermarket chain wouldn't take any responsibility for Instacart's flaws.
