WASHINGTON (AP) - Visitors at upscale hotels may want to be on guard.
D.C. police are looking for a man robbing people at gunpoint while they were inside or waiting for a hotel elevator. Police say there have been four such robberies over the last two months.
Last night at the Marriott Wardman Hotel in Woodley Park, three people were held up. Two weeks ago, two men were robbed at the Days Inn on Connecticut Avenue in Northwest. On Nov. 8, a woman was held up at the Melrose Hotel on 24th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. And a month earlier, the same happened to another woman at the Savoy on Wisconsin Avenue. That was the only robbery where the suspect didn't show a gun.
Descriptions of the suspect are similar, and police say they're investigating whether the same man is behind the crimes.
