Ah, you are correct!

Wow, there are 4 seats to SIN on my preferred date, quickly let's book that". And then it turns out, only at the end of the booking, that those 4 seats will cost you 2 000 000 points, because they never were real award seats.
Not so awsome, kind of bait-and-switch.
