For example with KLM - I put in a request to refund a refundable ticket I purchased. Refund was requested two days ago and still pending. Sent a message via Facebook messenger. Hour later still waiting for a customer service representative to come online.

No, it's not greener with AF. And sincerely, if you complain because your refund is not made 2 days after request, I'm afraid you'll have to lower your expectation level. CS of KLM is super busy with all the cancellations, rebooking, bags problems they are suffering about due to the AMS mess. I am not saying it's good and it shouldn't be like that. But you need to take into account the current situation.
