There is no cancellation or change fee. But you will be responsible to any fare change -- if the new ticket is more expensive.

The fact this was a cash ticket booked by UR points, means going forward this is a cash ticket and treated as other cash tickets. UA does not consider this to be an award ticket.

There is no limit on changing cash tickets.

If UA let's you cancel and get UA credit, that is the best way. But you must have new travel starting by 31 Dec 2023
