Probably a rare case where BA removing the lounge offering is actually an improvement in the overall experience.
I could not agree more. A horrid airport staffed by horrid rude people. Unfortunately for the check in agent who’s arrogance and off handed behaviours to an American Lady caused me to say something, he turned to his colleague and said something in Italian which I understood. Basically he referred to me as an old who-er as my Irish Dad would have said. I objected to the old in no uncertain manner.
The answer to the question is, if there isn’t a Lounge then there’s nothing given as a voucher as a rule. I was given a voucher in Dresden which I used in Duty Free. Not so in SAN where there was no Lounge as the American Airlines AAngel had decided to sling her hook and fluttered off home.
