The one time I was walked, I didn't get credit for the night at the other hotel, but the hotel that walked me gave me the full compensation without any questions or pushback, so I didn't push it because I was grateful for that. If I were in your shoes, and if the hotel gives you the $100 and 90k points without issue, I probably wouldn't spend the energy on asking for that extra night since you'll get LT plat next week anyway. But then I tend to be pragmatic like that.
