Proximity to this or that is highly overrated in BKK imo. Perhaps it was very important when you had to walk everywhere or try to grab a tuktuk but with the Grab app (Thai Uber) everyone's a taxi now. (though even at "Farang" rates a tuk tuk ride is a must experience).
As non-Thai speaking farang, every trip on the road yields a farang rate; and even with Grab, drivers are still pri*ks.
And I'm not sure why a tuk-tuk ride is necessary is Bangkok; they're not uncommon vehicles in the region, let alone other parts of the world. Is it the thrill of being
taken for a ride?
Whereas I'm no fan of the SkyTrain, it does have that direct link to The Emporium.
