I love Waldorf, much of the staff there are trained at Conrad and "graduate" to Waldorf. They've spoken very highly of it.

It seems like a tremendous value in the lux hotel segment, particularly with Diamond benefits. Have been considering it myself.

I'll be there a week after you. You're at the tail end of the hot/humid season so weather should be decent.

Unsolicited advice:

Hit the Chatuchek weekend market, Jodd Fair (formerly the train night market), and try to get to the islands in the south (Krabi). Flights on Thai Smile or Thai Vietjet are ridiculously cheap at BKK, like $40 economy or $120 premium with lounge access, r/t. Oh, and if you're not accustomed to the climate, wear linen.
You must mean that proximity is one of the most important factors deciding your stay in a city like Bangkok? I would not want spend my hard earned holiday stuck in a horrible traffic.
