Also -- we don't offer cheese & dessert by Status. As SE & SM's often sit in the last row of the cabin (seems to be a preference of many) it basically ensures that all options are available.
That is not how most SDs are phrasing it. If you ask for cheese and a dessert, there is usually pushback.
My non-status friends on my flight did not know "the rules", so had to choose one of cheese, tiramisu, or fruit.
I pushed back, and managed to get cheese and tiramisu, but it was after "which is your first choice, and I might be able to get you the other one".
