I think exit row seats are indeed blocked out from BA codeshare purchases but I think I have got the extra space rows at the front, which have about 2cm extra over the back of the aircraft. In theory IB can sell exit rows but IB's seating can be tricky even for their own flights. Personally unless you are doing BCN-TLV I'm not sure it's worth going to a lot of trouble, it's a cramped but you're only on board a couple of hours.
