mrs pbiflyer stayed there pre covid, no issues. Inside a fairly typical Aloft.
A couple ideas:
While it isn't really exciting during winter, you are a short walk to the Oktoberfest grounds, so you can at least say you've seen it and the famed Oktoberfest Kotzhügel. (Use google translate)
A decent 10 cent walking tour - Hang a right out of your hotel, continue through the Kalstor medieval gates down the pedestrian street Neuhauser Strasse. It takes you past shops restaurants and sites to the Marienplatz town center, town hall and St Peter's church. If there is a stand selling gluhwein, stop and get some for the walk. You can also continue down the road to the famed Hofbrauhaus. From there you have two paths you can go down (with apologies to Led Zeppelin).
Continue past the Hofbrauhaus to the Muchin Residenz palace, gardens, and historic Odeonsplatz, then on to the above mentioned English Gardens (where brave folks might still be surfing).
Or from the back of St Peters, you can go to the Viktual Market, then on to the Deutsches museum. Plan on spending some time in the Deutsches museum, it is quite an interesting technical museum. You can continue on to the Maximilian Gardens. I liked strolling along the river, but may not be your cup of tea.
