Appropriate in my view is a comparable property, and include some extras, e.g. an upgraded room, some resort credits, depending on the situation.
I think the key is really that Hyatt needs to provide comparable accommodations at the same cost as originally booked and at a property that is acceptable to the OP. It would be really awful if hotels were able to just cancel reservations and tell you to find something else on the Hyatt website if they, days, weeks or months after accepting your confirmed reservation, discover that they can sell your room to someone else at a higher price. I sometimes book properties because of location (perhaps family live nearby, or I want to explore that area, or friends booked another property next door, or my work location is next to the hotel), so an alternative accommodation on the other side of town/island isn’t always acceptable even if it is a comparable property.
