corporate-wage-slave - well when I arrived last month in LHR a whole bunch of flights were cancelled and they would not help re-book. It was a shambles. I stood in line for 3 hours just to get my boarding pass (I re-booked online whilst I waited).

This "ORD to EDI direct" I did not know about that. I'll check it out.

I've heard that both AMS as well as Dublin is the better way to go. I suppose I think it's better that I'm IN the country (UK) so I can get there by train if need be.
I'll check out Manchester as well - didn't think of that.
(FYI - these are not leisure trips but rather family required)

Oh, I just do a carry-on now. In n out fast!
