Given the costs of transferring miles, it can make sense to transfer some from a credit card or hotel program (check the exchange rates) or simply buy miles directly from DL if you don't need a lot for an available award ticket you can use.
Don't procrastinate as award availability can disappear quickly.
Hi, and thanks for the response. We do need to transfer miles. We're buying 2 international tickets. My husband has enough miles for his ticket; I am about 12k miles short. With the fee for transferring the miles and then buying the tickets with miles, we're getting both tickets for less than the cost of one ticket. So yeah, it's worth it in this instance. It would be very straightforward if only their web form would work, or if they were willing to do the transfer transaction over the phone. It will still be cheaper even if we buy my missing miles instead of transferring them, but that form isn't working, either. We have a little bit of time (travel in Sept) so we can "check back tomorrow" as they keep telling us, but that's not going to last much longer. We'd like to get it resolved ASAP.
