I NEVER rely on the CC travel portal to notify me of changes however I get them from Amex and I booked my first C1 trip using points and also got a notice from them.

Amex is detailed and specific. C1 was "Your flight changed but we can't see it so don't know what the change was"

I use the airline apps directly to get updates.
