Surely this is unsustainable for BA - I am currently on the LNER hurtling South instead of a BA flight and quite frankly, it is far more enjoyable. It is on time, comfortable, lovely scenery and no hassle at the start. I am normally a regularly EDI commuter but this is so much more pleasant at the moment, not to mention a lot cheaper - not sure why I would go back!

and, in my experience, on-board staff are very proactive at coming through the train at least every time it stops at a station to offer more drinks and extra food. They don’t behind hide behind a little curtain hoping the passengers are not demanding. 😜
