My bad. My fingers ran ahead of my thoughts; I should have said TPS, rather than SHS. My apologies.

At any rate, I suspect they would. The TPS property I stayed at had rate drops at around 7 days, 15 days and again at 31 days. Also, after 90 days' stay, taxes paid to date were rebated and no longer collected.

Precisely, and that's how I sold my client and my employer on the idea. My employer wanted me to get a furnished corporate apartment with breakable lease, but in the DC/NoVA area, the prices can be absolutely insane. Staying long-term at the TPS made sense from a commuting standpoint (<8 miles to work), all utilities were included, and the "lease" was eminently breakable, as I could check out whenever the engagement ended. Plus, there was cleaning service, keycard security, off-street parking and points and nights to be earned. Simply a better deal all around. Oh, yes, and it was cheaper to stay checked in rather than to check in/out each weekend. Less luggage, too.

I agree. I prepared most of my own meals while in that particular TPS property. I would have preferred to get 10 pts/$, but I did earn a boatload of them just the same.
