I have my honeymoon coming up in October and booked my fiancee and I an international Turkish Airlines flight - really starting to regret that decision. The Turkish airlines website and app barely function - it took me all of 5 minutes to do something on the Volotea website, a tiny budget carrier, whereas the same task on Turkish Airlines website took me hours.
Choosing our seats ahead of time will cost $140 per ticket if we want to nab an exit row for the long journey. Even standard seats are $40 each. That's a lot of money to cough up just to make sure we can sit together!
I'm watching this thread closely to read other experiences and whether I should just pay now vs risk sitting separately as newlyweds, both of us in random middle seats somewhere. From what I understand, it sounds like seats are assigned automatically - and even in the 24 hour check in period, there's no way to choose your own seat for free.
