So we were a little confused by the process. We didn't know if GE let us bypass a customs line or if there was some kind of laxity in the normal process.
Usually there's at least a CBP agent monitoring the GE exit line . . . but otherwise this is exactly what you hope for with GE - no delays at all after scanning your passport or face.

If you had a declaration to make you would probably want to search someone out . . . though they likely would find you first.
