Happy to say that "HUCA" worked for the first time in a little while, even though HUCA wasn't exactly my goal. Called last week to make a change to a government ticket. Agent was going to assess the $50 OTA takeover fee. I've never had DL assess it before though usually I've always called to either upfare or I'm changing the return after already having begun travel. Decided not to change on last week's call as I initially didn't want to pay the $50 fee out of pocket. Among other reasons, I didn't want to call my TA because I have mileage upgrades waitlisted and didn't want changing flights to screw up those waitlisted upgrades. Called back today deciding I would just pay the $50 to work directly with DL but the agent today processed the change I was requesting without even assessing the OTA takeover fee, so that was a HUCA win, even if inadvertently, in my book.
