Multiplier would affect only redeemable miles, not status qualification. You would need 11 round-trips like that to qualify for Diamond Medallion.
Another consideration with your travel is that if you choose Star Alliance, you can earn United upgrade points and use them to upgrade to Lufthansa First (not sure if your only destination is ZRH, or if you would consider a MUC/FRA connection to fly F).
