I'm not sure we're going to see the resumption of these 5th freedom routes anytime soon. With staffing at EK being a constraint, the priority is to resume the core non-stop services for now. That might change as the airline gets closer to pre-covid staffing levels. Even the latest third daily SIN flight resuming at the end of October would traditionally be a fifth freedom to BNE, but it's only scheduled as a terminator at SIN now.
