Indeed and we can blame the Germans for this one too, since during the War Cassava was relatively easy to source compared to the alternatives, and so any Brit over 60 or so will be familiar with eyeball pudding. Low in protein, low in fat, high in carbs, high glycemic index, so it wasn't a bad choice for children's dessert.
