I quite like the Tom Bihn Pop Tote-- it's been my usual personal item for years as well as being used as a regular bag to schlep things on a daily basis outside of travel. It still looks brand new. The padded handles are what elevates it above your average tote bag, plus it has Tom Bihn's usual incredible quality and useful features like the o-rings for clipping keys or other things. The zippered Large Shop Bag is larger and has those same features as well, and is a little less expensive, but it will still fit under a seat. Colors and fabrics vary and go in and out of stock if you're not seeing an option you like currently.

Neither of these has a luggage pass through or cross body straps, however.
