Just went through this with them. Booked a ticket with AMEX Plat Business card. Got 5x. Then needed to change ticket last minute. Was not allowed to do this on-line. So I called. Additional charges showed up in account as plane ticket (business class) and paid to Amex Travel. Never got the 4x bonus. Chatted in twice. No resolution - always pending. Ten days past the date I had been given for resolution, I chatted again. CSR looked into it and came back with the info about phone not counting with Business Plat. Said he could see how I was "confused." I said, "What about the fact that the website forces me to call in?" Response, "Next time, have them cancel out the ticket and rebook in entirety if you want the 4x bonus points."

Next time? At this point I was getting (politely) irritated - suggested that this was placing a lot on the customer's plate. To the CSR's credit, he went into the "loyal customer" thing, and said that while he couldn't give me the points, he would give me a cash "goodwill" credit essentially equal to the missing MR points (assuming you value the points at about one cent each). Close enough. Lesson learned: Not really a good card for tickets, even through Amex Travel.
