I just had another thought about this. They say the purpose is to monitor for new variants… However, I had also read that one of the acceptable types of tests for random arrival testing is the type of self test that is monitored by video by a nurse or whoever on an app?

In this case doesn’t the test get thrown out and not further analyzed for a particular variant?
