I have 2 one way award tickets flying in business class with Japan Airline from Bangkok to San Francisco, via Haneda,Japan. This evening I received an email from American Airlines informing me my flight changed and they are not able to automatically rebook me, asked me to call.

I checked my reservation at JL, and everything still seems intact. It did change my connecting airport from Haneda to Narita. I figure it might be the reason why AA could not rebook me since I probably cannot go into Japan and make that connection from Haneda to Narita. I do not know if Japan will open to individual tourists at the time.
I checked the award on the day of my travel or a day before or after, it only offers coach or first class. The first class also only applies to 1 segment out of the 3.

It took me a long time to put the trip together, what is my options? I do not want to call until I know what alternative will make the situation more acceptable. Can American Airlines request Japan airline open award seat?
