Sorry to bump this thread but I am using AS miles for the first time on all on AS metal. My first two segments ( with a stopover ) , First (E). Last segment is main cabin as first wasn’t available(even though it’s wide open, there’s space the day before and day after).

my questions :

1) Will I receive a last minute upgrade request even on an award ticket that has the final segment in Y?
2) does AS open up my F space on domestic flights closer to flight time? My flights are in just under 2 months. F space opened up on one of my segments( I had two main cabin segments before) after I made my booking so i switched into that for free.

Really liking how I can change my award flights for free and been wondering why I haven’t been crediting all my flights to AS instead of AA. hoping first class space will open up before my flight so I can switch into but was curious about the last minute check in option. Not a big deal either way, 2 hour flight for final segment but it would be nice to use the club at SEA with the first class flight
