With the rollout of Ultimate Choice upgrades work a fit differently at airport locations these days. You may be able to push them to upgrade you one car class based on your status, but it won’t be automatic and you probably won’t be able to choose from Ultimate Choice as the rules are pretty clear that you need to initially book a midsize or above for that.
I inadvertently booked a B in ORD a couple months ago -- I just wasn't paying close enough attention when I booked and was surprised to see whatever it was on the board rather than PRES CIR so I stopped into the booth and was informed of what I had booked but also told they had no cars in the zone I should have picked from so to just grab a car from the next tier up (but still not pres cir)
