I have united 1k status, but need to travel to certain far off destinations in Canada that United simply will not allow me to book a ticket to on their website. How do I get AC to recognize my Star Alliance Gold Status? I signed up for an Aeroplan account, but can't figure out any way to link them. Bonus points if there's any possible way to use my 400 UA Plus Points to do some cabin upgrades.
