It will, for such an auspicious year, be the first year in about eight years that I've not re-qualified as Titanium and I don't intend to reach for that unless something unforeseen happens later in the year.
Similar for me: 8 years Platinum on the app and the ninth year is locked in as I have already qualified for Plat this year (I got 16 bonus nights during the 2x promo)
I'm on 58 nights now, and in a normal year I wouldn't think twice about getting to 75 by Dec 31. However, I'm all over IHG now, thanks to their status challenge (and I've already racked up the 15 nights for Diamond). I already had around 10 nights of organic stays booked with IHG even before the status challenge launched, so adding a few extra nights to get Diamond till end of 2023 was a no-brainer.
Unlike IHG and Hilton, Bonvoy is not running any promo during the summer. I received an incredibly weak targeted promo - 5K points for two weekend stays by end of August, so I'm going to avoid Marriott completely during this time (lest they think their lame offer actually incentivised me to stay with them)
In contrast, I'm currently getting 4x points on every IHG stay - and with the 100% points bonus as Diamond that works out to 5x bonus points on every single stay. These points are racking up quicker than I can spend them!
By the end of August I should have 29 nights with IHG. With at least 5 nights already locked in for a stay in the UK in December, that means I need less than 7 nights to get to 40 - which gives me the unlimited Lounge Pass as a milestone reward. I believe that if you hold off selecting this as the milestone choice until 2023, then you'll effectively get lounge access for 2 years. Hitting ICs with Club access from booking a standard room will be sweet indeed
