On the welcome gift - that could easily have been an oversight, my room didn't have the baby crib that had been ordered either (not ideal when checking in at 9pm), so perhaps they moved me or housekeeping forgot... just a reminder on poor service

On al-la-carte menu items: I see your point if the Orientbank is "the best", and I spend a lot of time in Asia that has similar service levels, rather than Turkey so I'd take your more considerable experience against my two stays back-to-back. My logic was that at breakfast the LM had 4-6 people working in the open kitchen and it never felt that busy, and there was a separate egg chef - so you can imagine it wouldn't be that much more effort if smart.
