1. Booking a midsize reservation allows me to walk down the emerald isle and select any car and be charged the midsize set price? Does that also apply to emerald aisle executive cars? Is there an upcharge from midsize when selecting a car in the emerald isle executive section?
Yes, in the Emerald aisle, you can select any car and you will be charged for a midsize. No, Emerald Executive is a separate section for Emerald Executive members. The vehicles are supposed to be newer and/or less miles. However if your status is Emerald Exec, then yes, you can select an Emerald Exec car for the price of a mid-size.
2. Are Premium or Luxury cars applicable to this emerald aisle rule or must you exclusively book those separate?
There could be some there for the taking, but it is never a guarantee.
3. Should you not rely on the emerald aisle for a premium/luxury car? Or if you see one can you select it and pay an upcharge?
No, you should not rely on it for those classes of cars. However, if you do see one in the aisle, you can select it for no extra charge.
I sometimes use the corporate code to get a premium or luxury car. When visiting certain places a base BMW 3 series falls under premium while in other places, they give you a base 3 series or Volvo as a luxury car. I’m wondering if I’m wasting money overall selecting the luxury tier in the past instead of just going for premium.
Can't help you on this one as I never rent those to begin with.
