We had a great time, thanks! We got upgraded to the pool/ocean view spa suite which was huge - I don't think it had been used recently though as there was absolutely nothing in it, we had to request kettle, coffee maker, water, even bedding for the sofa bed even though they knew there were 3 of us! But a lovely place and hugely attentive staff. We got sparkling wine and a short tour on arrival, and staff seem to know you by name immediately.
We were asked which amenity we wanted as Diamond and obviously opted for the breakfast. This was the buffet which was excellent and had a large range of hot and cold items. They give you vouchers for each day of your stay which you give to your server. They don't seem to have quite got the hang of it yet as on the first morning we had to sign for the full $94, 2nd day didn't need to sign anything, and 3rd day had to sign for $0! But none of it appeared on the final bill so it was all good. I felt a bit cheeky trying the secret password on top of all that so didn't bother!
The resort fee 🙄 is steep at $80 but you can get value out of it. We particularly appreciated the parking valet - the car park is underground so it was blissful having a cool car waiting for us when we wanted to go out.
Pool/beach - fantastic. They bring you towels and you can order F & B to your chair. (They seem to guard the loungers fiercely - the family next to us on the first day were turfed out because they'd only eaten there and weren't actually staying!) There was F50 sunscreen, fruity water and swim nappies to help yourself to, should you need any of them.
Prices in both Ave and Coccoloba restaurants were actually fairly reasonable for Cayman. We had the 3-course tasting menu with wine and rum pairings for my husband's birthday and it came to $300 US - it was all excellent. I think somebody posted previously that none of the spend on the property seems to attract points which is a bit disappointing and might influence where we eat on our next stay in April!
