Presumably there's some question about whether or not appropriate accommodation happened in this case.

That's probably why there's been a bunch of apologies and miles flying around; it's very likely a real service failure (that could expose the airline to liability and big ol' DOT fines were it to occur again) when all the details came out. That's how the parents are treating it, an opportunity to correct things, not like an excuse to go hit up a corporation with big pockets for $$$.

Why is it so hard to believe that an airline can mess up something like this when they can't even get lounge access that has actual published rules right?
