If I had chosen a connection at DFW, I would be willing to bet a large sum of money that I would not have been upgraded. I would almost encourage you to occasionally book a connection at a spoke for hub to hub flights to almost guarantee upgrades. I'm wondering if there's really any benefit for a DFW based flyer to be any higher than platinum? When executive platinums don't get upgrades, what benefits are there really that or any better than a regular platinum?
I had no idea AA flew OKC-LAX. I might try it sometime and like the 175.
