On typically half the pay of the then legacy crew. So they were probably thinking "we will find it relatively easy to ramp up again, people will work for us for lower pay due to the brand". That has not gone to plan on multiple points and they no longer have the bedrock of legacy staff, LGW staff or crew, to tide over the complexities of where we are now. Nobody had a crystal ball? Well in my line of work we test out various scenarios - such as a pandemic incidentally - and see if there is any gaping gaps that result from current policies.
I agree regarding MF and I don't want to start controversy again by using the B-word, but I think more has gone wrong here than "just" the pandemic. In my line of work we also test multiple disaster scenarios and when mixing multiple scenarios together it's always the adaptability to any given situation that produces the best outcomes.

We hear rapid recruitment is not possible because security checks take so long. Is that really pandemic related? Or is it a lack of adaptability on behalf of HAL or HM Government? And then the capping of passenger numbers by HAL. HAL maintains that this is because the Airlines' ground handling cannot keep pace with HAL, which also claims to have massively increased staff in the last months compared to the Airlines.

Perhaps we should let EasyJet use LHR and see what happens then.
