Not convinced they will. I remember a time before Easyjet where we happily paid over £400 each way to travel to, say, Germany. The main difference though was you were given a meal, even in economy. But paying that kind of cash for a flight was the norm. It's the rise of Easyjet and Ryanair which pushed down prices and a generation (or two!) grew up viewing flights to Majorca would be around £70 each way. One of the guys who works for me thinks paying anymore than £300 to fly to the US is absolutely nuts. He's 28.

The problem is that there's a lot of retired people out there who are prepared to pay a lot of money to fly well. My landlords travel to Barbados twice a year. In 2016 they were paying £1500 each for a return CW flight. Now they are paying closer to £3K and will still pay it as they want to go. They paid something like £5.8K in flights when they few a few months ago. I was astonished. Just shows how much money people have and how they value their travel.
