Since we don't know the nature of the inquiry it wouldn't be possible to 100% say what will happen but in general unless it's something quite egregious it going to be delegated to some kind of staff member, who may or may not provide a satisfactory answer/solution/resolution.
Of course it will be delegated, but the exec will at least be aware of it. If it's a significant enough issue that they care then they will most likely follow up.
