BTW, if you buy an iPhone from Apple using your address and your mother's name, you will be getting a lot of spam mails (snail mail) addressing to your mother to your house. Back a few years, our friend from Italy came visit and we bought his son (about 13 years old) an iPhone at the local Apple Store. The phone was registered under her son's name and birthday but using our addresses. Fast forward to this year, we get now getting mail every week about how to get into college addressing to her son or "her son's last name FAMILY". Apple sold the data to 3rd party with the birthday so they know he is now in the High School sophomore/junior age.
I’ve purchased a number of phones direct from Apple and never had that experience. So not always.
