Thanks. That is my plan and I hope that is correct and if not I should be able to qualify next year. I read the T&C's and I'm not sure I agree with your interpretation but it is also not entirely clear. I can actually only come up with 7 or 8 qualifying platinum years but the combination with Starwood completely throws off my calculations.
Someone said I could just use points to book stays. That was my first plan. But my go to local property that we paid $110 a night in December 2021 is now at least $440 and costs more than double in points. Things are crazy in Hawaii right now! So that would be an expensive option in points.
Waiting an extra year is really not that big a deal. I was just investigating options. I hope you are right and I get a pleasant surprise in Feb 23.
