Can confirm flagship lounge going downhill since my last visit in late May.
Beef was ok, but I don’t eat much beef. Fish cooked as long as the beef and almost liquified (even when a fresh tray was brought out).
Other than the blue, the cheese was poor, either American (or inoffensive bland cheddar), and chemically flavored “smoked” Gouda cheese. Couscous salad- just couscous. Chicken noodle soup somehow worse than last time (I liked it last time. Not this time).. Of course, the bread was done where in between fresh and lacrosse ball.
Desserts poor (said my wife, who has more of a sweet tooth). My wife prefers her black and white cookies stale so that was in sync with there service)
Wine selection was at least old world (more to my taste), I guess adequate although cheap (but that was expected).
I’d say booze was decent with six scotches (Glenfidfich 12 the best and the only one that truly interested me), 5 gins, and 4 tequila (including Casamigos), and Courvousier VSOP ( not my choice by a long shot but at least not VS like at BA galleries ). Wish the wine was on par with the hard liquor.
No salad. I suppose mortadella and salami fans might have been content.
I haven’t been this month, but LAX FL in late June (at breakfast) was actually good.
One plus, don’t remember luggage racks in the shower before, just the combo stool/rack. They had both this time, a real improvement in one area at least.
will go back to brining a sandwich from Katz’s or a chicken parm from Parm for the flight home.
